Let me have a warmer day!
(like it was last August)
And now, a day (last August) at a “Zoo Park” which was wonderful, because the animals roamed “free” in huge areas. Obviously caged in, but it was the habitat that was caged, not the animals. The “tamer” ones roamed free between us as we walked through their homes. Keepers were plentiful to supervise US (not the animals) and stop us from approaching, stroking, etc. A wonderful sight to see them in as natural an environment as possible (without travelling the world.)
A butterfly liked my brightly coloured cool-bag.
We stood on the terrace of a cafe to get this close to giraffes.
Littlun here watching them munch on hay.
And baby came too. Thirsty baby.
A massive area for them to roam.
The obligatory peacock…
…who stubbornly refused to display his tail feathers!
And the absolute favourites of the Littlun’s -
Lemurs!
This fluffy cuddly-looking one was incredibly tame.
Many of them weaved between our feet.
That’s MY feet there!
They groomed and played in the sun.
Lazed in the sun.
And then the absolute favourite favourites came out.
The ring-tailed lemurs.
And these cute little guys – also lemurs we’re told.
Taking it from our hands a grape at a time.
Grapes are a sweet munch for them. ;0)
(Under strict supervision of the keepers who provide the grapes.)
Anyone know what bird this is?
Not worrying about the crowds.
Hundreds more photos are to come from this day out. Yes, all in one day. Poorly feet but well worth it! I’ll save the next lot of photos for another post. Hope you enjoyed these.
